Né à Reggio Emilia (Italie) en 1964, Stefano Bonilauri enseigne l'harmonie à l'école de musique Castelnuovo né Monti depuis 1987. En 1991, il entre aux conservatoires de Bologne et de Reggio Emilia où il obtient des diplômes de composition, de musique chorale et de piano.
En 1988, il participe à la Biennale Giovani Artisti dell'Europa Mediterranea. II remporte un prix au concours international de composition LC.O.N.S. (1991) ainsi qu'au concours de composition de Moldavie (1993). II est finaliste du concours international Nuove Sincronie de Milan avec une oeuvre pour accordéon qui est également sélectionnée par le jury international de la SIMC en 1998. Solo lit pour guitare, est primée en 1998 au concours international de composition
II Fronimo, est publiée chez Suvini Zerboni. En 1994, il reçoit une commande de Luigi Pestalozza et de l'école de musique Merulo, qui lui commande ensuite une autre oeuvre, interprétée en 1995 par l'Ensemble Musica-Realtà à l'occasion du 50e anniversaire du Mouvement de la Résistance Italienne. En 1996, une oeuvre pour chorale lui est commandée au concours international Guido d'Arezzo et sa transcription des Histoires Naturelles de Ravel est interprétée au cours du festival de musique contemporaine Di Nuovo, à Reggio Emilia. Il gagne le 3ème prix puis le prix spécial du plus jeune compositeur au 9ème concours international Kazimierz Serocki.



Stefano Bonilauri è nato a Reggio Emilia il 12-03-1964. Si è diplomato in Pianoforte,Musica Corale e Composizione.
E’ stato eseguito dal quartetto “Voces”, “Ex novo” ensemble “Musica Realtà”, "Icarus” ensemble e “Archi italiani”. E’ pubblicato da Berben e Suvini Zerboni. Insegna Armonia Complementare presso l’Istituto Musicale Pareggiato “C. Merulo” di Castelnovo né Monti (RE).


Stefano Bonilauri was born in Reggio Emilia (Italy) on 12th March 1964.
In 1994 he got a commission from Luigi Pestalozza and the Merulo Music School. In1991 he studied at the Conservatory of Bologna and Reggio Emilia where he earned degrees in composition, choral music and piano. In 1988 he took part in the Biennale Giovani Artisti dell’Europa Mediterranea. In 1991 he was awarded the 2nd prize at the International Composition Contest I.C.O.N.S. In 1993 he won the 2nd prize at the Moldavian Composition Contest.
A new work was commissioned to him by Luigi Pestalozza and it was performed in June 1995 by the Ensemble Musica-Realtà on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Italian Resistance Movement.
In 1996 a piece for choir was recommended at the International Contest Guido d’Arezzo and his transcription of the Histoire Naturelle (Ravel) was performed during the Festival of contemporary Music in Reggio Emilia (DI NUOVO).
In addition, with a piece for accordions, he was finalist at the International Contest Nuove Sincronie In Milano where this work was performed. The same work was selected by the I.S.C.M. 1998 International jury.                                                                    
In 1998 the piece Solo III for guitar won the 3th  price at the International Composition Contest Il Fronimo. The same piece has been published by Suvini e Zerboni. His works were performed during The folloving. In 2002 the piece Quartetto IV has been selected by ensemble Aleph ; it will be performed in Spain (festival of Alicante), Nizza (festival “Manca”), Darmstadt, Paris, Chalon sur Saone and it will be recorded.
In 2004 the piece “Otto variazioni” for 13 strings won the 9th International Composer’s Competition “Kazimierz Serocki”. The same piece has been published by Suvini e Zerboni. His works were performed during the following festival : G.A.M.O. (Firenze),Biennale giovani Artisti dell’Europa mediterranea, Nuove Sincronie (Milano), Settembre Musica di Torino,Di Nuovo Musica (Reggio Emilia) , Perugina, Kisinav, Vasto, Sabbioneta, Manchester, Festival Musicanova Sofia. They were performed by the ”VOCES” quartett , Ex novo Ensemble, Musica Realtà Ensemble, Icarus Ensemble, Archi Italiani.
He has been teaching harmony at the Music School of Castelnovo nè Monti C. Merulo since 1987.

    • "Luce Radente", en CREATION MONDIALE, dans le cadre du Festival MANCA 2006 "les points cardinaux", mardi 14 novembre 2006, Espace Magnan, salle Jean Vigo (Nice) par l'ensemble Aleph.
  • Production : en résidence dans les studios du CIRM pour la production de "Luce radente" du 3 au 7 janvier et du 28 novembre au 16 décembre 2005, Robin Meier, assistant musical.
